TraceLess does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. All information stays on your device.

Overview

TraceLess is a mobile application that helps users reduce their environmental footprint by scanning product barcodes, viewing eco-scores, and discovering greener product alternatives.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Names, email addresses, or account credentials
• Location data or device identifiers
• Advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Health, financial, or contact information

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally using on-device storage and is never transmitted to any server:

• Scanned product history
• Swap history
• Preferences (display name, eco goals, notification settings)
• Progress data (eco-score, CO₂ savings, achievements)

You can delete all data at any time from Profile → Privacy → Clear All App Data.

Camera Access

Camera access is used solely for scanning product barcodes. Camera data is processed on-device in real time. No photos or video are captured, stored, or transmitted.

Network Requests

TraceLess makes requests to the Open Food Facts public API to retrieve product information. These requests contain only the barcode number — no personal or device information is included.

Third-Party Services

TraceLess does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Children's Privacy

TraceLess does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

Data Deletion

Delete all app data from Profile → Privacy → Clear All App Data, or by uninstalling the application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the TraceLess application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Description of Service

TraceLess allows users to scan product barcodes, view environmental scores, and discover eco-friendlier alternatives. The App is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

3. Eco-Scores and Product Information

Eco-scores, environmental ratings, CO₂ estimates, and swap suggestions are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional environmental, health, dietary, or purchasing advice. You are solely responsible for your own decisions.

4. No Warranty

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any data or recommendations.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TraceLess shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App in compliance with all applicable laws. You are responsible for ensuring that product choices suit your individual needs, including dietary restrictions, allergies, or health conditions.

7. Data and Privacy

All user data is stored locally on your device. TraceLess does not collect, transmit, or store personal data on any server. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Intellectual Property

The TraceLess name, logo, and all associated design and code are the property of TraceLess.

9. Third-Party Services

The App retrieves product data from the Open Food Facts API, subject to their own terms.

10. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
